Pokerbility - Hands Odds Calculator

"Texas hold em poker is a game that takes minutes to learn, but a lifetime to master." If you've played poker much at all you've likely heard that quote -- but have you ever wondered why that is? The reason why games like Texas hold em and other poker games take so long to master is because there are so many variables that come into play. When it comes online poker, however, there is a secret weapon that you can use as a shortcut to poker mastery - Pokerbility. Pokerbility is a supremely accurate poker odds calculator that gives you an undeniable edge over the majority of online players by providing real-time probabilities and clear direction on how to play hands in an easy to use format that runs right alongside your favorite poker room.

Using the proprietary, patent-pending CombiCalc™ Calculation Method, Pokerbility combines the most effective methods for a poker odds calculator; game simulations and probability calculations. By taking into account the active information in a current hand, Pokerbility will calculate your chances of winning when you are pre-flop, and run game simulations to determine continuing odds based on the flop, turn and river. You can even input variables such as your style of play in order to produce the most accurate poker odds calculation results possible.

Compatible with about 50 online poker rooms, including the popular Party Poker, Doyle's Room, Pokerstars and Europoker, Pokerbility will be your partner in mastering and winning at online poker.

Strategy tips for playing cash games

If you play lots of online poker then you have probably played in the odd cash game or two. If you find you are constantly getting rivered then it could be a run of bad luck, or bad cards, which often happen in poker. However, you could be making errors leading to you getting constantly rivered. Betting too small is one reason to get rivered. You could be offering poker players the correct pot odds to call to the river and in many cases hit against you. You could be playing against very bad poker players at low stakes, these players can't fold anything. To improve your poker game read tips on playing $1 $2 cash games.

Ceri Rees wins a life changing amount of money for €4!

Dusk Till Dawn satellites are proving more and more popular each month. A total of 158 players qualified through online and live satellites for 250,000 DTD Poker guarateed deepstack. A further 342 direct buy in’s were needed across the 2 day 1’s to meet the guarantee.

The event got off a slow start on Day 1a as 143 entries took to the field, of which only 25 took the option to re-enter back into day 1a. Dusk Till Dawn saw 43 players advance to Day 2 with Matthew Moss and Tom Middleton taking the chip lead, both on around 245K.

A staggering 357 entries were needed on Day 1b in order to reach the guarantee. At 2pm the tournament started with 207 entries taking their seats. The crowds soon came flooding in bringing many familiar faces including Sam Trickett, Roberto Romanello and of course Devilfish, who had just finished 2nd in a special ‘Bust the Devilfish’ STT. James Dempsey and Jake Cody got there with 10 minutes to spare and by the end of day 1b a total of 397 unique entries had filled the cardroom and an astonishing 78 players had grabbed the opportunity to re-enter and play for the record breaking £321,500 prize pool for the £500 buy in event.

Of the 643 total entries 188 returned for day 2, with run away chip leader Jimmy Hunter on 390k. The top 63 places would be paid.

The final 8 players included Ceri Rees making incredible back to back finals in the 500 Deepstack. Ceri was involved in a 4 way deal in February however the new ‘No Deals’ policy would ensure an outright winner established and the full £86,200 would be claimed. Tommy Bingham who reached the final in the recent 150 Deepstack was also in the running. Simon Trumper announced at the final table that clocks were being rolled back so the average stack was 50 big blinds, giving players plenty of play.

As the field narrowed it was in fact those two players, Tommy Bingham and Ceri Rees who were Heads Up. At 5:30am on Monday morning the tournament eventually came to an end, Bingham got his short stack in with AJ, called by the A9 of Rees as a 9 on the river meant Ceri was victorious for over £86,000, as Bingham collected £50,397.

Dusk Till Dawn are over the moon for Ceri. He is one of their regular online players and has not missed a Deepstack weekend since August 2011, qualifying online every month without fail. They caught up with Ceri after the event to find out exactly how much his £86,000 win had cost him online to qualify. Astonishingly, he revealed that after feeding his way from the €4 Mini Feed into the €20 Feeder, Ceri won his entry into the 9pm MEGA SAT for just €4 where there were 10 seats to be won.

“I think the no deals policy is great! When it was first mentioned, I didn't think that it was a good idea, and that it was the player’s money and they should be allowed to deal if they wanted. But I have definitely changed my mind. It is a fantastic feeling knowing that I have won a tournament outright, and the money is pretty good too!”

A live poker experience

For most poker players the thought of taking part in a tournament conjures up the image of sitting across from the likes of Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth in the luxurious Bellagio casino in Las Vegas and playing for vast sums of money but not for me. You see I am a low-stakes grinder and I have to swap the Bellagio for a tiny poker room in my local casino where the only poker site logos you will see are attached to the hoodies of the fish have bought with their frequent player points. Silly fish.

I recently took part in a tournament with a £10 entry fee, that and £3.50 juice, yes you read that correctly the rake was a staggering 35%. Not the best of starts. In the tournament's defence there was £250 added to the prizepool and with 45 entrants the prize money was not too shabby, paying out six spots ranging from £40 to £260 either of which would keep me in beer for the next week. It wasn't anything like the Betfair GSOP VI but then it wasn't trying to be.

I knew it was going to be a long night when one player, who had registered late, was sat to my immediate right after around 20 minutes of play. He said hello to the table and then placed a baseball cap on his head, adorned his face with a ridiculous pair or sunglasses and turned on his ipod full blast. Remember this is a £10 freezeout not the $10,000 WSOP Main Event. We would clash later.

Over the course of 90 minutes I had somehow managed to add 20,000 chips to my starting stack of 10,000 and was in a solid position to make it through to the money placings but then disaster struck. I inexplicably forgot that nobody folds any draw, or any piece of the board regardless of the action in front of them, third pair is the nuts to these guys believe me, and I bluffed off around 12,000. Just as I was about to give up all hope of being able to by myself a few jars of ale an angel was sent to me from the Poker Gods, a complete amateur was seated at out table!

When I say complete amateur I mean an absolute rank amateur who did not have a clue at all. Our table had noticed the poker room manager, he calls himself that but he is basically a bloke who sits on a big chair and takes your buy-in, showing this poor soul the basics of poker. A few minutes later this unsuspecting sap takes his seat two to my right complete with a hand rankings chart in his hand! I kid you not. He proceeds to play what turns out to be his first ever hand of poker and by the turn the action is four handed. At which point he taps the dealer on the shoulder and quietly asks if he is allowed to look at his hole cards yet! Seriously. He goes on to play every hand he is dealt and almost stacks me.

In that particular hand he raised for the first time since he sat down and I three-bet him with a pair of black tens. Everyone folds and I find myself in the superb position of being heads-up, with positional advantage, against the worst poker player in history. The flop comes down 8h-8c-4s and he bets the minimum, 400 chips, and I decide he is going to call with a whole range of cards worse than my tens so make an oversize bet and put him all in. He double checks his cards then beams like a Cheshire cat as he turns over 8s4c for a flopped full house! No miracle ten and I am left with 15 big blinds.

Remember the dude who sat down and quickly turned himself into a makeshift poker pro? Well he makes his return now as he was the one who eliminated me from this prestigious event! It folds around to him in the small blind and he completes and I simply tap the table and check. The flop comes down 9h-8h-2c and he bets half the pot. I now check my holecards and see 7h6h staring back at and move all-in. He thinks for around a minute before calling with pocket kings informing me he thought I had two pair. Really? You read me for two pair but still called anyway. Of course I miss my bag of outs and bust out in 17th place. Maybe I'll fare a little better against those entering the various Betfair Grand Series of Poker events? Probably not though.
